On Monday we covered various claims on the future of Angeliño. Sold by Manchester City to PSV last summer, the fullback has impressed during his time in the Netherlands, which has brought interest from several big clubs.
Manchester City fortunately secured themselves a buyback option and La Voz de Galicia (Angeliño is from that area) reported as fact that the €12m clause would be used.
De Telegraaf then backed that up to a certain extent, only for Eindhoven Dagblad to say the claims were ‘speculative’. We suggested that stance was unfair, La Voz had clearly been given the information, right or wrong, rather than snatching it from thin air.
Marca later reported they’d been able to confirm the La Voz claims, and they added Manchester City’s plan was to keep Angeliño in their squad next season, rather than try to make a quick profit.
On Tuesday morning, Eindhoven Dagblad are now sounding far more on the side of La Voz. It’s stated the player’s PSV exit is ‘almost certain’ and he’s ‘likely’ to sign for the Premier League champions, with the ‘green light’ expected soon.
Manchester City have made PSV aware of their plans.
