Mateusz Bogusz left Polish side Ruch Chorzów for Leeds United in January 2019 and the attacking midfielder signed a contract until 2021.
Prior to joining the Whites, Napoli wanted to have him on trial. However, Ruch Chorzów decided against allowing the 18-year-old to undergo such a test with the Italian club.
These claims have once again been stated by Italian journalist Antonello Gallo on his official Facebook page and his comments have been relayed by Area Napoli.
Bogusz is yet to make his Championship debut and has made only one appearance for the first team.
Last week, the player expressed his frustration over a lack of opportunities at Elland Road.
Gallo now claims the teenager could leave the English club in the summer and the Serie A side could try to sign him again. He believes the Poland U21 international can be an ‘investment for the future’ for the Naples club.
With a contract expiring in 2021, Marcelo Bielsa’s side must decide whether to offer Bogusz a new deal or sell him in the next window.
