Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in Marcel Sabitzer ever since their Champions League defeats at the hands of RB Leipzig last season.
Since then, there have been regular reports of Spurs wanting the 27-year-old, but a deal is yet to be made.
Earlier this month, the midfielder was cryptic when directly quizzed whether or not he will sign for the north London club in the summer.
The Austria international’s contract expires in 2022 and Bild claims that within Leipzig, they are aware the player won’t renew. He ‘wants to change’ clubs in the next window.
Sabitzer has no release clause and Julian Nagelsmann’s side are looking for a fee in the range of his current market value (€42m).
The Leipzig star’s ‘goal is the Premier League’, where ‘three clubs want’ him, and among them are Tottenham.
It’s claimed José Mourinho became a ‘fan’ of Sabitzer after watching him closely in his side’s two defeats against the German club. Through intermediaries, Spurs established contact with the midfielder in January, for a potential transfer in the summer.
According to the report, Tottenham will have enough money to do a deal for Sabitzer, if they manage to sell Dele Alli.
Bild states there’s ’75 percent probability’ for the Austrian to join Mourinho’s side after this season.
