It took a few months for Carlos Sanchez to find a new club following his departure from Watford at the end of his contract in June, and it seems he’s finally close to doing it.

According to Colombian outlet Antena 2, the midfielder is now in Bogotá, where he’s ready to sign for Independiente Santa Fe.

Sanchez is expected to soon have his medicals and finally sign a deal, as he’s waiting to join the squad for training in the coming days. It’s claimed he’s joining them on a one-year contract.

Sanchez had recently gone through a similar situation. Following the end of his link with West Ham United in the summer of 2020, it took a while until he signed a short-term agreement with Watford in March this year.

Since moving to Vicarage Road, he only made nine appearances for the club, and that wasn’t enough to convince them to keep him or even draw the attention from other Premier League sides.

Now at the age of 35, he’ll have the chance to play in Colombia for the first time.
