Following the announcement that Alexandre Lacazette would be leaving Arsenal, a new question started to appear: where would he go next?
The obvious answer here was Lyon, his former club, where the president Jean-Michel Aulas never hid his desire to bring back the former star.
Well, it appears that move is on its way, as Lyon have scheduled a press conference for 9am local time tomorrow, and RMC Sport are reporting the player is ‘currently undergoing his medical’ ahead of the move.
The outlet explain the Arsenal striker ‘will return’ to his old club, and ‘will be presented’ on Thursday morning.
Arriving at the Emirates in a £48m transfer during the summer of 2017, the France international scored 71 goals and assisted another 36 in 206 appearances for the Gunners.
That wasn’t quite the return Arsenal were hoping for, but he still managed to impress at times, even becoming the club’s captain this season.
However, he will now return to Lyon, where he first made a name for himself, scoring 129 goals and assisting another 43 in 275 appearances in all competitions.
