Kristian Pedersen arrived at Birmingham City from Union Berlin in 2018 and has been a regular inclusion in the English club’s starting lineup.

Since the start of the 2018/19 season, the left-back has made 75 starts in the league and has five goals and four assists to his name.

Pedersen’s ‘eye catching performances’ were enough for him to draw attention from the Premier League and in particular, from Watford in January, according to Denmark’s BT.

It’s claimed the 25-year-old was ‘close to a move to the Premier League’ in the winter market as the Hornets were ready to take over his services.

Their interest in the fullback was concrete and Nigel Pearson’s side even submitted a bid of £8m for Pedersen. However, Watford’s offer ‘wasn’t enough’ for the Championship side and therefore, they rejected the proposal for the Dane.

Pedersen’s contract at St Andrew’s is until 2022 and it remains to be seen whether or not Birmingham City will be able to retain him beyond this season, if Premier League clubs come calling in the summer.
