Just a couple of days ago, Italian website Calcio Mercato reported some advance in Juventus’ negotiations to sign Matteo Darmian from Manchester United.

According to the outlet, the player had given the ‘go ahead’ for the Serie A side to negotiate with the Red Devils. That means things had taken a step forward after months of talks to convince him to return to Italy.

Now, the same Calcio Mercato comes with an update, this time covering a report from local newspaper Corriere di Torino.

The outlet claims the fullback has indeed ‘approved’ the negotiations to go on and is now ready to wear Juventus’ shirt, despite having played for rivals Torino before.

What the report makes clear is that Juve are not alone in the race, since Napoli have also been following the Manchester United player for a while now.

With Darmian’s staff apparently pushing for a move, and the player being clearly ignored by José Mourinho in most of the starting lineups, it seems the his career at Manchester United won’t last much longer.
