Last season, Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno lost his place in the Gunners’ starting lineup to Aaron Ramsdale.
Despite not featuring regularly for Mikel Arteta’s side, the German continues to draw interest from other clubs, including Fulham.
On Monday, Leno’s agent told Bild that Fulham are trying hard to sign his client. If the 30-year-old ends up leaving Arsenal, they may have to bring in a replacement in the ongoing window.
His successor could come from Barcelona, if a ‘confidential’ report from today’s Sport is to be believed. Their title states: ‘Neto approaches Arsenal’.
Within the report, it’s said the La Liga side need to let go of some of their players [even if only on loan] to lower their wage bill. Neto is included in this list, and he’s attracting attention.
This is where Arsenal come into the picture, considering Leno is ‘very close’ to being sold to Fulham.
Should the German end up leaving the north London club, Sport state it would open the door for Neto to join them. However, the former Valencia man must be open to adjusting his salary.
Despite the claims, it’s unlikely Neto would get the game time he’s looking for at Arsenal. Aaron Ramsdale is first choice, and the Brazilian goalkeeper would have to compromise on that aim if he’s to join the Gunners.
