Tuesday saw Manchester United hijack Lyon’s move for Tyrell Malacia, having made contact on Monday evening.
Feyenoord chief Frank Arnesen confirmed his side have an agreement with the Red Devils and the deal will go through if the left-back gives his approval to the transfer.
Earlier on Wednesday, L’Equipe stated the Ligue 1 side tried to improve their offer to the Dutch club, but the 22-year-old has decided to join United this summer.
This is now further backed in the Dutch press by Voetbal International. Their title states ‘Malacia nearing agreement with Manchester United’.
Within the report, it’s said the Netherlands international is ‘almost in agreement’ to join Erik ten Hag’s side and only a few details are left to be sorted out.
The player, along with his agent, Ali Dursun, are now ‘heading for a quick agreement’ with Manchester United, with the widespread expectation this is a transfer which will be completed soon.
Feyenoord are reportedly looking to raise funds to improve their finances before the end of this month. Malacia’s sale to United for €15m plus bonuses can help them achieve it, and is a deal they’re happy with.
