Sweden disappointed at Euro 2016 and will want to make a much better account of themselves at the World Cup, but that could mean leaving the PlayStations at home.
Swedish newspaper Astonbladet have picked up comments Pontus Jansson has given to a podcast, in which the Leeds United defender gives his own reason for why Sweden only managed to get a single point out of three games.
Jansson explained: “One of the reasons it went that way in France must have been COD (Call of Duty). We played all day long.”
Aftonbladet believe there may be too much gaming going on at Leeds United, saying that after a promising last campaign, much more was expected from the club this season.
For Jansson himself, he’s done quite a bit of speaking in Sweden this week. Mainly about his beloved Malmo, but he also found some time to throw doubt on his Leeds United future.
The Swedish defender wants assurances from the club over what they have planned for next season and it sounds like that will then help him decide whether to push for a transfer or not.
“We’ll see what happens” – Pontus Jansson tells Swedish media he wants to know Leeds United’s plans.
