It doesn’t seem that the Argentine media knows an awful lot about Manuel Lanzini.
He hasn’t played in the country since 2014 and a transfer to Al Jazria club wasn’t exactly the kind of thing Lanzini’s home media would follow.
But everybody loves the Premier League, so at West Ham there’s been more attention for Lanzini and what really seems to have caught the attention of Argentine newspaper Ole is Jurgen Klopp wanting to sign the player for Liverpool.
It’s figured that given Klopp wants Lanzini to be the ‘successor’ to Coutinho at Anfield, and Jorge Sampaoli had picked him for the national squad then ‘we must believe’.
When the Lanzini to Liverpool links first started they made waves in Argentina, with the media there then realising it was time to start paying more attention to the West Ham player.
Added to a national call-up, that’s further boosted things and should Lanzini be picked for the World Cup, West Ham would be able to demand a huge chunk of cash for any Liverpool move.
