Tony Pulis confirming that William Carvalho is a player he’s keen on, and has been watching, was inevitably going to lead to repeat transfer rumours. That’s fair enough, given an awful lot of rumours are fuelled by speculation alone, a manager confirming interest in a player is pretty concrete.
The potential transfer has been given another boost, with O Jogo reporting this week that Sporting will let Carvalho and others go for less than their release clauses. That’s crucial, because it’s unlikely West Brom were ever going to part with €45m for the midfielder.
Another Portuguese newspaper, A Bola, report in their Saturday edition that Sporting are lining up a replacement. That man is 25 year old Croatian Filip Bradarić.
It’s stated Sporting want €30m, a figure which often changes, and it remains to be seen if West Brom will meet such a price, and at the payment terms Sporting will request.
