Paulo Fonseca is a man of the moment.
Adored at Shakhtar Donetsk and seemingly a respected figure in Ukraine generally, the manager has been subject to a raft of rumours about his future.
Linked with Everton, West Ham, Zenit and Napoli, just this week, the Donetsk boss was reportedly in England on Monday to meet with David Sullivan.
Unless there’s more than one Paulo Fonseca, on Tuesday the man in question was back in Ukraine. Sport.UA report he was invited by the Portuguese embassy to give an open seminar on Portuguese football.
Fonseca pops up everywhere in Ukraine, a few days ago he was a judge on Masterchef.
The same Ukrainian news outlet says when asked about his future, the Portuguese coach replied: “That’s a very difficult question. Can I answer you in two days?”
On Saturday, Portuguese newspaper A Bola reported Fonseca had left Everton behind and ‘should commit to West Ham soon’. That was a surprising twist in the story, but given the claimed trip to England it seems they certainly had some information.
