Tottenham are being linked with Joachim Andersen in Italy on Sunday, although there’s nothing especially concrete about them planning to do anything about supposed interest soon.
Andersen, a Demark U21 international, currently plays for Sampdoria as a central defender. The 22 year old moved to the club from FC Twente in 2017.
Last season he played seven Serie A games in total, and that he’s already on six this time around shows he’s enjoying a real breakthrough season at the Genoa club.
Good performances in the current campaign means he’s attracting interest from other clubs, and Calciomercato pick up claims from Il Secolo XIX to say that Tottenham would be one of those.
Inter Milan are out in front but several others, ‘particularly Tottenham’, are said to have the player ‘in their notebook’.
This means Sampdoria will evaluate the situation, potentially giving the youngster a renewal. His current contract runs until June 2021, and that could be extended, along with a pay rise.
Calciomercato report this would help Sampdoria get a better fee down the line.
