Back in March, Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari stated Manchester United are in the mix to sign Leeds United’s Raphinha this summer.
Later that month, Mundo Deportivo reported the Red Devils and Paris Saint-Germain were interested in the winger.
Recent claims have talked about Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea showing interest in the Whites star, along with Barcelona. Manchester United and Liverpool are now added to this list by Sport.
It’s claimed Liverpool and Chelsea are the ones who have pushed the most, while ‘there are also offers’ from Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal.
The Brazil international has ‘blocked all English offers’ in order to join Barcelona. His stance is keeping the La Liga side, who are facing a difficult economic situation, alive in the chase.
Xavi Hernández’s side have had an agreement in place with the Leeds man since March. They have summoned the player’s agent, Deco, to give him a definitive answer regarding his client.
Barca can define a plan on how to approach the case once the financial situation relating to TV rights is sorted out. Deco is in Barcelona to define the final strategy to take his client to the Camp Nou.
To do this, they will also have to outline how the negotiations with Leeds will be carried out. Marsch’s side have set a €50m price tag, but Sport state Barca will need to reduce it.
Reports are stating Leeds are tired with the lack of effort from the Spanish side, at a time when there are other clubs willing to pay them exorbitant money. Despite this, Raphinha has asked his current employer to continue negotiating with Xavi’s side.
With regards to Erik ten Hag’s side, if Manchester United have made an offer to sign Raphinha, there’s likely to be further reports on this soon.
