Last week we covered the Catalan reaction to claims Barcelona could look to sign Raphinha from Leeds United in the summer market, and now it’s Manchester United’s turn to be linked.

The slant from sources close to the Blaugrana was that the club have other ideas ahead of the transfer market, and unless things change, and players leave, signing a wide attacker isn’t one of their priorities right now.

Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari has been covering interest in Raphinha for a while, and now brings Manchester United into the picture, for what would be a surprise and controversial signing, given Leeds United fans wouldn’t take well to such an important player being sold to their much disliked rivals.

In mid February, Longari had already covered interest from Barcelona and Chelsea, and he says the latter are now on standby, given their current situation.

It’s Manchester United taking their place in the race for Raphinha, and there’s no further information on what Ralf Rangnick’s side would be doing about it.

A lot will depend on where Leeds United finish the season, and things are now looking a little better after their weekend victory over Norwich City.
