On July 24th, RMC Sport reported Lyon had made a €30m offer for Barcelona defender Yerry Mina. The French publication even talked about Manchester United providing ‘strong competition’ for other clubs in signing the centre-back.
The 23-year-old’s stellar performance for Colombia at the 2018 World Cup has not gone unnoticed, and his uncle Jair, who is also his agent has already confirmed “Everton is a club that insists on the player”.
Mina’s representative is already in Barcelona and is discussing with the sporting leaders of the La Liga winners to clarify his player’s future.
On Wednesday, we started to see reports that linked back to Catalan newspaper Sport, claiming the South American’s agent continues to receive several offers from important clubs, including one from the José Mourinho’s Red Devils.
Calciomercato went with a headline saying: ‘From Spain: Manchester United make offer for Yerry Mina’
The report claims the former Palmeiras man’s agent is also in contact with the La Liga winners to know if his client will be included in Ernesto Valverde’s plans for next season or not.
However, the throwaway mention in Sport’s latest article about Manchester United is purely based on RMC’s Tuesday report, even linking back to a previous article of theirs from the previous day, and isn’t them confirming it.
Therefore, claims of an offer are a big twist on what was reported in France.
Mina, who is currently on a holiday, is working with the staff of Colombian club Deportivo Cali to remain in shape.
