Nottingham Forest are reportedly making it hard for Portuguese side Estoril to keep attacker Licá.
The 28-year-old was sent out on loan by Nottingham Forest in January, and even though he managed to convince Estoril, it will be hard for both parties to find a deal.
As explained by Tuesday’s edition of A Bola, Forest are still paying ‘an important part’ of Licá’s high wages. That’s why another loan isn’t in their interest, even though Estoril want to prolong it.
The newspaper doesn’t really mention any possibility of Estoril signing the player on a permanent deal, likely because the smaller Portuguese clubs can rarely afford someone coming from the UK.
And as Licá’s contract expires next year, Forest must move and sort the player’s future out before he can walk away for free. He was signed from Porto last summer, but Nottingham Forest quickly sent him out on loan.
A way around the impasse could be for Licá to voluntarily accept less wages than he’s currently contracted to receive from Nottingham Forest.
