Certainly after a new midfielder as shown by their desire to sign Ibrahim Sangaré from PSV Eindhoven, Nottingham Forest have also looked elsewhere.

The latest name to have been the subject of the Tricky Trees’ attention is AS Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana, who has been expected to be sold this summer.

RMC Sport are the ones reporting the news, with it claimed that Nottingham Forest are ‘ready to make a written offer’ to the principality side for their player, who is also wanted by West Ham United.

The problem faced by Steve Cooper’s side, who ended lsat season in 16th position in the Premier League, is that Fofana himself has ‘shut the door’ on that option.

This, while a blow for Nottingham Forest, could be a benefit for other interested parties, with it stated that the aforementioned London club are ‘still there’.

Whether they are ready to make a move remains to be seen, but it’s added that Fofana, on top of what Nottingham Forest will have presented him, has ‘other offers’.

Onto the next one for Steve Cooper, then.
