Nottingham Forest are ‘preparing to make a €10m offer’ for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır, as they eye a new number one for next season.

That’s according to Cum Hurriyet, who say Steve Cooper’s side are one of several eyeing up a move for the highly rated goalkeeper.

Forest need to find a new number one for next season, with Dean Henderson and Keylor Navas having returned to their parent clubs this summer following loan deals at the City Ground.

Cum Hurriyet say Çakır is one that they are targeting, and they have learnt that Nottingham Forest are ‘preparing to make’ a €10m offer to Trabzonspor for him.

They are not the only side reportedly interested in the Turkish goalkeeper, with Roma and Saudi Arabian team Al Taawoun also eyeing up the 27-year-old.

Whether a €10m bid will be enough to convince Trabzonspor isn’t mentioned but it seems unlikely given the player has a contract until June 2027, and there is no desperate need to sell their number one.

Either way, that’s seemingly the figure Nottingham Forest will be offering as their opening gambit as they look to sign a new goalkeeper this summer.
