On August 17th, AS explained Nottingham Forest want Real Madrid’s Álvaro Odriozola and he would welcome a move to England.
Two days later, the same newspaper stated the right-back is increasingly close to joining the Tricky Trees.
It has been over 10 days and Nottingham Forest have not managed to close the deal so far. Their interest in the 26-year-old is discussed in today’s edition of Marca.
The Spain international returned to the Bernabéu after spending last season on loan at Fiorentina. They and the Premier League side are the two teams that have ‘most insisted’ to sign the player in this window.
The option to join Inter Milan was the one that most seduced Odriozola, but a move there would only be possible if they get rid of one of their players.
Apart from Nottingham Forest and Fiorentina, Marca tag Real Sociedad and Villarreal as options for the player.
Both Odriozola and Carlo Ancelotti’s side are ‘clear the best thing’ for the Spaniard is to leave, even though he has a contract until 2024. He is not part of the manager’s plans this season.
Despite this, the Spaniard has not made a decision on whether to seek a new destination or stay at Real Madrid and wait for an opportunity under Ancelotti.
