FC Luzern are yet to make a decision on Nottingham Forest defender Mohamed Dräger and whether to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer.

That’s according to Blick, who say it is ‘very questionable’ whether the Swiss side will take up their option to sign him once his loan deal comes to an end.

The 26-year-old has been on loan with Luzern since February last year following an unsuccessful short stint at Nottingham Forest following a move from Olympiacos in August 2021.

He’s made 49 appearances for the club since then but has found himself out of the picture this season after the World Cup.

He was a regular in the side before that point but has fell out of contention since then, with manager Mario Frick claiming, “he fell into a mental hole” and subsequently preferring Severin Ottiger in his place.

It means the defender’s future at the club is now ‘hanging in the balance’. Luzern have an option to turn his loan deal into a permanent one butt his change in status means it is now ‘very questionable’ whether they will take that option up.

They’re seemingly not as keen on the Nottingham Forest man as they once were, and it appears he will be sent back to England rather than remaining in Switzerland next year.
