Just last week, a report from Turkey appeared out of nowhere claiming that Nottingham Forest had made an offer for Ryan Kent.
The Englishman is currently at Fenerbahçe, signing there on a free after his contract with Rangers expired, but the City Ground side were keen to bring him back to these shores.
It was said that Nottingham Forest were expecting an answer rather quickly, or at least that’s what they were hoping for, but there hasn’t been much on the matter until Wednesday, when Steve Cooper may have been handed a boost to have his wish come true by journalist Murat Zorlu, relayed by TV100.
Zorlu explained that the Turkish side want to ‘part ways’ with three foreign footballers during the January transfer window, and Ryan Kent would be one of them.
Unfortunately, the forward, who did well in Scotland, ‘could not give the desired performance’ since his arrival in the Süper Lig.
Fenerbahçe could therefore try and cash in, especially if Premier League clubs such as Nottingham Forest are interested.
One to keep an eye on, but if the Tricky Trees are really interested in Kent, then as long as they have the money, they shouldn’t meet too much resistance from Istanbul.
