Chelsea are now the latest Premier League club to get linked to Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, the Blues are interested in the 27-year-old.

There are not many details in the story, with the reporter only claiming that Tah ‘has a release clause’ in his contract with Bayer Leverkusen that will expire in 2025.

It’s also said that the German player could be the ‘successor of Thiago Silva’, who, at 39 years old, has his contract with the Blues coming to an end once the current campaign is over, and it’s not yet clear whether he’s leaving the club.

Tah is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €20m, although his release clause could give a better idea of how much Chelsea would need to spend to get that signing done.

This year, he’s been linked to the likes of Manchester United and West Ham United, although it seems those clubs never made a real move to get his transfer.

Silva’s potential departure definitely gives Chelsea the need of going after a centre-back, so he could be one of the names in their list after he recently switched agents to Pini Zahavi, who has a long history of dealing with and for the Blues.
