Brighton and Hove Albion youngster Jeremy Sarmiento has rubbished claims he is set for another long period on the treatment table.

The 19-year-old has only recently returned from a hamstring injury picked up at the beginning of December, which ruled him out until the beginning of last month and saw him miss 98 days of action, or 15 games for Brighton.

He’s been slowly edging his way back into the picture since that point sitting on the bench for three of Brighton’s last five Premier League games and picking up a handful of minutes against the likes of Norwich, Manchester City and Southampton.

However, he hobbled off injured in an Under 23s clash with Chelsea earlier this week, leading to fears he could be set for another spell on the sidelines.

Indeed, there have been rumours he could be set to miss as many as three months, but the youngster insists that is not the case.

“Nothing serious; I felt a discomfort in my left leg,” ESPN report him saying to Fubol Ecuador.

“I’ve already had an MRI, and it showed a grade 1b tear, which means two weeks out. Everyone is already making up that it’s three or four months.”
