Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Villareal last night not only put the Reds closer to the Champions League final, but was also another step in their hunt for the four titles of the season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have already won the EFL Cup, and besides the European semi-final, they are second in the Premier League table, and have the FA Cup final to be played against Chelsea.

So as Fabinho spoke to the Brazilian media last night, he was asked a few questions about the Champions League clash, the affection from Liverpool fans and his chances at the national team.

Then he was quizzed about the potential quadruple.

The midfielder made it clear that the Reds have been focusing game by game, even though their final objective is, of course, to win all the competitions they’re in.

“Man, it’s not easy for you to reach this point of the season still alive in the four tournaments. Physically, it demands a lot of you. Mentally too, it’s not easy to be preparing game after game,” Fabinho told TNT Sports.

“I think in the past week or so we had three derbies here. City, United, Everton. It’s something that’s not easy, so you’re always prepared for big games. Today another game, another physical and mental challenge, which is a Champions League semifinal. But the group has given an incredible response. The team has prepared well.”

“Thank god we haven’t had many injuries, which helps a lot too. And the group has been thinking game after game. So, as I said, Saturday we have an important game. Trying to recover and be at our best. And playing in a big club is that, you always have to be prepared for decisions, for important games.”

“Let’s keep playing. We are alive in all four competitions, which is very important, so we will continue to play and try to win. Because it is also an opportunity to make history. Winning one, which we have already won, two, three, or four, which is a possibility as well.”

Following the Champions League win, Liverpool now switch their focus to the Premier League, as they play Newcastle United at the weekend.

They then travel to Spain and try to secure their place in the European final.
