Earlier on Tuesday, we covered a story claiming that Davinson Sánchez was a doubt for Galatasaray ahead of facing Manchester United in the Champions League.
The Colombian arrived in a permanent deal from Tottenham in the summer, and has quickly established himself as a starter in Turkey.
That’s why his fitness is of great concern in the days prior to the Manchester United clash, and manager Okan Buruk has now confirmed that the centre-back will not be on the pitch.
He said, relayed by Asist Analiz: “Davinson is in no condition to play with an injection. We expect him to return to the team in 2-3 weeks.”
As for Abdülkerim Bardakcı, who was also a doubt, Buruk was a bit more optimistic about an appearance against Manchester United, claiming that they will try the centre-back out in training ahead of the fixture and decide whether he should play or not.
Suffering from a hamstring strain, Sánchez had made 11 appearances in all competitions for Galatasaray since his arrival late in the transfer window, scoring one goal and assisting another two along the way.
Okan Buruk: "Davinson'un iğneyle oynama durumu yok. 2-3 hafta içinde takıma dönmesini bekliyoruz. Abdülkerim'i de antrenmanda deneyeceğiz. Olumlu dönüş alırsak yarın sahada olacak." pic.twitter.com/tX6m74lAPt
