On Monday, Sabah reported Galatasaray’s Davinson Sánchez and Abdülkerim Bardakcı would be ready to face Manchester United in the Champions League.
Bardakcı missed the league win over Alanyaspor at the weekend while the 27-year-old Colombian picked up an injury in the same tie. Sabah stated the latter’s injury wasn’t serious and he could be in contention to face the Red Devils on Wednesday.
Later that day, Galatasaray confirmed Sánchez suffered a grade two muscle strain. Gazete Vatan relay this and then state it’s likely the South American will miss the clash against Manchester United.
However, the report adds an effort will be made for Sánchez to be on the pitch to face Erik ten Hag’s side. It’s claimed he’ll try to train today, to find out whether he can make himself available tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Gazete Vatan say Sánchez’s centre-back partner, Bardakcı, ‘did not participate in training’ yesterday. He suffered an injury in training prior to the tie against Alanyaspor and it’s claimed the 29-year-old is still struggling with ‘pain’.
The outlet adds ‘conditions will be difficult’ for the Turkish defender to train today. Although he’s doubtful to face Manchester United, Bardakcı is not ruled out just yet.
Sánchez and Bardakcı have been key players under Buruk this season and their absence would be a big blow for Galatasaray tomorrow.
