Back in the January transfer window, Newcastle United reportedly failed with an attempt to sign Michele Di Gregorio from Monza.
The Magpies are said to have been rejected by the goalkeeper, who’d prefer to continue his career in Italy instead of having to adapt elsewhere.
As Il Bianconero now shares a new story on Di Gregorio’s future, they point out how cheap the player could turn out to be in the summer window.
The outlet starts by recalling Newcastle’s attempt, saying the Magpies were ready to pay €20m for his signing in January.
Now it’s said that Monza only request €15m plus bonuses to let him go, but it’s actually Juventus who seem to lead the race.
Tuttosport, also relayed by Il Bianconero, claim the Old Lady’s chiefs are already in touch to get the signing done, as they have big plans for Di Gregorio in Turin.
In case Newcastle still want the signing, they should probably gather all the convincing arguments to bring to the table, as the transfer fee definitely doesn’t sound like an obstacle for the Magpies.
