Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar is one of the many names listed by the Italian media as a potential AC Milan target today.
It’s newspaper Tuttosport who comes up with one of their stories naming all the players who could be signing for the Rossoneri this summer.
Speaking of defenders, other Premier League names such as Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren and Manchester United’s Eric Bailly get a mention, not for the first time in the transfer window.
And there’s surprisingly some interest in Schar as well, according to the report. Although there are at least a few lines about the other defenders, the Newcastle player only gets mentioned with no details.
Signed from Deportivo La Coruña on a €4m deal last summer, the Swiss international took a while to get a place in the team, but once he did, he never left, having finished the season with 28 appearances for the Magpies.
He’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €8m, but it’s clear that Newcastle would demand a lot more in case Milan actually come for him.
In addition, Calciomercato has an article on Tuesday evening saying Schar has been proposed to Milan by an agent.
The valuation is put at €15m, and Newcastle aren’t ruling out a transfer.
Milan’s manager Marco Giampaolo will decide.
