According to Turkish website Fotospor, Lyon were impressed with Garry Rodrigues’s performances against Besiktas, and are ready to make an offer for the player
It was reported in the Turkish press last week that Newcastle United and Lyon sent scouts to Istanbul to watch the Galatasaray attacker, and it now seems the Ligue 1 side are ready to move in on the Cape Verde international.
Fotospor say Lyon scout Marcelo Dijan was very impressed with the winger’s overall contribution, and the club sees Rodrigues as an alternative to Memphis Depay.
The Turkish media outlet claim Lyon could table an offer in the region of €14m for Rodrigues when the transfer window opens, although reports this week suggested Galatasaray will be looking for bids of €20m plus.
It now seems Newcastle United may need to act quickly if they want to sign Rodrigues in the next transfer window. Newcastle are expected to make an offer for the winger in the summer after having two bids already rejected by Galatasaray.
The Magpies may need to break their transfer record if they want to bring in Rodrigues.
