According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are looking at the possibility of Badou Ndiaye leaving in this transfer window, and have lined up a replacement.
Ndiaye has been linked with a move to Newcastle United in the past week, after claims the Premier League side have tabled a bid for the Senegal international.
Hurriyet have today reported former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stéphane Mbia is now a target for Galatasaray, following the proposal the Turkish side have received for Ndiaye.
Currently playing in China, Mbia has experience playing in Turkey with Trabzonspor, and it’s been reported Galatasaray are speaking to the player’s representatives.
If Mbia is brought in this will come as boost to Newcastle United in their pursuit of Ndiaye. Last week it was reported the English side had bid €18m for the central midfielder, and it’s expected Galatasaray will make a decision whether to accept this in the coming days.
Newcastle United will expect to face competition from Stoke City, who have offered Galatasaray €16m for the player.
