Newcastle United star Florian Thauvin is expected to leave the club this summer temporarily or permanently.
Thauvin spent the last six months on loan at his former club Marseille, after failing to make an impact at Newcastle.
Reports in France suggest Marseille are interested in signing him on loan again next summer, but are finding it difficult to reach an agreement with Newcastle.
Lazio are also said to be interested in the player, and are looking for a replacement for Antonio Candreva, who is expected to leave the Serie A club this summer.
Lazio’s interest in Thauvin gathered pace, after the supposed arrival of Marcelo Bielsa at the club, but the Serie A club are still interested in the Frenchman after Bielsa’s departure.
According to Italian website Calciomercato, Lazio have agreed a fee of €12m/£10m with Newcastle for Thauvin.
The Serie A club have also agreed personal terms with Thauvin, and the player should earn around €1.5m/year.
There is no mention of a loan deal so we assume Calciomercato believe it’s a permanent deal.
Earlier today, French newspaper L’Equipe also quoted Italian media to confirm Thauvin is heading to Lazio.
L’Equipe, however, believe it’s a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option.
