According to a claim in the Turkish media, AC Milan are the latest club to show an interest in Besiktas forward Cenk Tosun.

The 26 year old has also been linked with a January move to Newcastle United after the Premier League side tried to sign the Turkey international in the last window.

Mynet Spor have reported Tosun is a consideration for AC Milan after the player’s impressive performances this season. The forward has hit the ground running this season despite speculation he would be leaving the Turkish club in the last window.

This week he scored two goals in Besiktas’ 2-1 win over AS Monaco, and subsequently was named one of the standout players for match day three of the Champions League.

The Serie A giants spent €180m in the summer when they brought in seven new players, but it seems they’ll continue to recruit when the window opens in January.

Newcastle United have again been linked with Tosun by the Turkish media outlet, and will be expected to challenge AC Milan in the race for the player.

Newcastle United tabled a bid in the region of £8m for Tosun in the last window, but it was rejected by Besiktas. However, Newcastle United are still considering signing the Besiktas star, and have scouted the player during Turkey’s last two internationals.

It’s expected Newcastle United will come in with an improved bid in the new year, but face competition from other clubs.
