Even though it’s been a few months since we last saw rumours linking Real Madrid star Eden Hazard to Newcastle United, those claims returned on Monday evening.

In a story featured by Foot Mercato, it’s once again claimed that the Magpies are one of the clubs who are interested in landing the winger in the next summer.

The outlet points out Newcastle had already interested in signing the player in January, and are ‘still following him closely’. They are ‘on the case’ for his signing.

Eddie Howe’s side, however, should be aware of the competition for the 31-year-old, since the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have also been in touch for his transfer.

Despite having another unimpressive season at Real Madrid, it’s said Hazard wants to stay at the club. He’s aiming to fight for a place in the team and doesn’t think of leaving for now.

However, it’s pointed out that the Spanish giants are ‘putting obstacles on his way and not closing the door on a departure’. That’s why the player should think more about his future after the end of the season.

A move to Newcastle United could give Hazard the opportunity to become a superstar again, and find a fanbase who would treat him as a hero from day one.
