Earlier on Tuesday, we covered claims in Corriere dello Sport claiming that Inter’s latest ‘new idea’ for their summer transfer window plans is Newcastle’s Ayoze Perez.
The Spaniard has been in fine form over the past few weeks, scoring five goals in his last four league games, which, mixed with a desire to try a new adventure, has caused a number of clubs to circle.
On top of Inter, another Serie A club are reportedly looking at Perez: Napoli.
This comes from Il Mattino, who explain the forward is one of the ‘young players’ to have to ‘majorly put himself in the limelight’ this season in the Premier League, and is a player Carlo Ancelotti could certainly build around.
They admit any transfer involving the 25-year-old would be a ‘major investment’, yet it could be one worth undertaking as not only would he bolster them now, but he could still improve over the next few years.
CalcioNapoli24 followed on Il Mattino’s claims a bit later on on Tuesday, claiming contact had already been made between Cristiano Giuntoli and Perez’s intermediary, but Inter appeared to be ‘in pole’ for the forward as things stand.
Certainly one to keep an eye on, as the Newcastle forward’s future appears to become one of the bigger transfer stories around Europe.
