The brother of Newcastle United star Allan Saint-Maximin, Kurtys Saint-Maximin, has revealed his client wants to play in the Champions League but he has not spoken to Napoli about a move.
Saint-Maximin has been the star of the show for Newcastle this season following an €18m move from Nice last summer.
His performances, and tally of four goals and seven assists in 26 games for Newcastle so far have earned him plenty of attention and admiring glances from around Europe.
Several Premier League sides have been linked with making a move but there is also potential interest outside of the UK, with Napoli named as a potential destination.
The Serie A side are set to undergo something of an overhaul in this window and could be on the hunt for a new right winger should they decide to cash in on Hirving Lozano, who has been linked with a move to Everton.
His agent, though, has dismissed any such speculation, saying he has never spoken to Napoli about a move, even before the Newcastle transfer.
“He is doing well in the Premier League even if it is a very physical championship,” he told Calcio Napoli.
“I remember that Nice-Napoli for the impact that my brother had with Koulibaly on the field, the blue defender is a very strong and physical player.
“The Blues are a good team, but I have never talked to them about a possible transfer of Allan Saint-Maximin. Even in the past there have been no contacts.
“If he likes the Neapolitan team? Of course he likes Naples, it is a great club like Juventus, Inter and Milan are in Italy as well.
“I still don’t know his future, it is too early to talk about it but surely he will want to play as a starting player and participate in the Champions League.”
