Earlier today, we’ve seen Italian outlet Tuttosport claiming Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were both interested in the signing of Torino defender Wilfried Stephane Singo.
Besides speaking of their interest, that story pointed out that the 21-year-old was made for Premier League football, as his features suit that style more than the defensive Serie A.
Now it turns out that the same newspaper, this time covered by TuttoMercatoWeb, we get to see Newcastle United being thrown in that battle as well.
With Torino looking to ‘earn more’ with the sale, it’s said president Urbano Cairo gave orders to speed up the negotiations for Singo’s new contract. That should protect him from the attempts which will come in the next transfer window.
This is not the first time Newcastle are linked to the defender, though, as earlier this week, Torino Granata also claimed that the Magpies were ‘ready’ to offer €20m for him as well.
It appears that Newcastle’s chase for another right-back is taking shape, perhaps concerned about how long Kieran Trippier can last following his recent injury.
