Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain’s Arnaud Kalimuendo.
The striker has been out on loan at RC Lens since the start of 2020/21 season and has 19 goals and six assists in all competitions, out of which 11 goals were scored in the ongoing campaign.
His displays have pleased Newcastle United as the Premier League side are ‘interested’ in the 20-year-old.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who provide an update on the France U21 international’s future plans and the effort made by the Magpies so far.
Kalimuendo’s contract with the Ligue 1 winners runs down in 2024. His agents are set to have a meeting with the PSG leaders in the ‘coming weeks’. The frontman, for his part, is ‘ready to extend the contract’ so that he can continue in Paris.
However, the Frenchman’s performances have caught attention elsewhere, ‘especially in England’, where Newcastle United are named as a suitor. It’s explained Eddie Howe’s side have ‘recently advanced their pawns’ to sign Kalimuendo.
Therefore, PSG will have to ‘think about their strategy’ to deal with Kalimuendo and his future. They have to decision to make on whether to retain him or cash in from his sale in the summer.
