Four days ago, Le Parisien claimed Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte ‘dreams’ of managing Paris Saint-Germain next season.

Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is currently in charge of the French club. Although he guided them to the Ligue 1 success this term, his future in Paris beyond the ongoing campaign remains uncertain.

The current Tottenham manager could replace the Argentine at PSG, even though he is contracted to the north London club until 2023.

According to French journalist Abdellah Boulma, Conte ‘told emissaries’ from Qatar that ‘he was ready to take over’ Pochettino’s job at Parc des Princes.

The Italian has also made his ‘conditions’ clear to leave Tottenham and take the PSG job. The ex-Chelsea manager wants ‘total control’ over transfers and also has the desire to work with Gianluca Petrachi at PSG.

Conte has not worked with his compatriot in the past and Petrachi, who previously worked as a sporting director at Torino and AS Roma, has been without a job since leaving the Giallorossi in June 2020.

Boulma’s claims are echoed by RMC Sport, who explain that Conte, who is ‘interested’ in joining PSG, has ‘set many conditions’ to arrive in Paris.

Conte currently earns €17m annually at Tottenham and wants his salary to be raised to nearly €30m per year. In addition to this, he wants to have ‘total control’ over the club’s transfer business.

According to RMC Sport, Petrachi ‘would have been surveyed’ to join his compatriot at PSG. The current Spurs coach also wants to bring his entire backroom staff along with him to Paris.

The website states: ‘True to his reputation as a tough coach, Conte would also have targeted PSG’s shortcomings in terms of discipline. Shortcomings that he would like to fill upon his arrival with the recruitment of personnel to supervise the players. According to our information, he would particularly like a director of social networks to better control their use in the locker room. In private, Conte says he is tired of what he calls “Instagram players”, too numerous today in the world of football.’

Regarding his position at Tottenham, the report explains Conte ‘no longer’ has the same vision as Daniel Levy. Therefore, the Spurs chairman would not be against the idea of parting ways with the manager, and would ‘welcome the idea’ of Pochettino returning.
