Arsenal continue to be named as potential contenders for the signing of Emil Forsberg from RB Leipzig.
The Gunners had already been linked to the player by the German press due to an attempt to bring him to London in the January transfer window. Arsenal were said to have tried to sign Forsberg in the winter market, but the move ‘shattered’.
Now it’s the Italian media who does it. As Calcio Mercato writes today that Juventus are interested in the player, they say Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain could be providing some competition in the summer.
The website claims that the player is ‘destined’ to leave Leipzig at the end of the season, while the German club have put a €40m tag price on him.
Forsberg is thought to have been agitating for a move away for a while, and hasn’t had the best of seasons for RB Leipzig, which could impact his price and interest in him.
The attacking midfielder is currently suspended due to after an incident in the match against Mainz in the latest fixture of Bundesliga, and that may have been his last game for the club.
