Kiko Casilla to Leeds United isn’t getting the coverage it may once have done, despite the English club being top of the Championship and in the world media for various reasons at the moment.
The goalkeeper has slipped down the pecking order at Real Madrid after the signing of Thibaut Courtois. He’s managed to make the bench for the past couple of matches but that’s been down to the Belgian picking up an injury, with there being no doubt Keylor Navas would get the nod.
Reportedly on the verge of a transfer several times, with Newcastle United linked repeatedly at one stage, there’s probably a little boredom with the player’s situation.
Marca have moved from saying negotiations are advanced to now saying they’re ‘very advanced’, and pushing that the player has given his approval to the move.
The transfer is described as ‘very near’ by the Spanish newspaper, and the deal ‘could be closed shortly’ as long as everything goes to plan.
It’s thought the move will either be on a free transfer or for a nominal fee, despite the 32 year old having a contract until June 2020.
