Tahith Chong is in Manchester United’s squad on Monday evening for the Europa League quarterfinal against FC Copenhagen. Bild report it could be the footballer’s last match before he leaves Old Trafford on a loan deal.
Werder Bremen have been linked with a swoop over the past week by the Germany media, and the plan would see Chong move on loan for two seasons, but the Bundesliga club wouldn’t have a buying option.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given the green light to a move, something which it seems he promised when Chong extended his contract with Manchester United in March.
Bild quote the player’s agent, Erkan Alkan, as saying: “Mr. Solskjaer kept his promise from March and told Tahith that he can leave the club. The boy really wants to go to Werder. He wants to be part of the preparation as soon as possible so that he can quickly find his way around.”
This could see Chong being allowed to leave early, even if his current club go further in the Europa League. Werder travel to a training camp in Austria on Friday, kicking off their preseason training, and Bild believe Chong could have already joined the club by then.
