Last week, we covered reports from the Ghanian media speaking of Everton’s interest in Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus, with claims saying the player and club already had an agreement for the transfer.

Now the Dutch media back up this personal deal and say that the Toffees are insisting on signing the 22-year-old.

Ajax Showtime (via Soccer News) writes that Kudus ‘has set sights’ on a transfer to Everton, and given the green light to the Goodison Park side. Now he ‘hopes’ that Ajax will work for the transfer to take place as well.

However, the Eredivisie side don’t seem so keen on that. Even though manager Alfred Schreuder is not making big use of the player, giving him only 56 minutes on the pitch this season, he doesn’t want to lose another footballer at the end of the transfer window either.

So it’s still unclear if Kudus will be able to leave Ajax this summer or not. Soccer News puts the transfer in Everton’s hands, pointing out that Toffees have until Thursday to convince the Dutch side to let him go.
