Turkish newspaper Fotomac report Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba has given the green light to joining Trabzonspor.

In recent weeks the Karadeniz Firtinasi have been linked with a number of players to replace former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, who terminated his contract last month due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Fotomac claim Nakamba is keen to continue his career in Turkey and Trabzonspor are hoping offering Champions League football will help them to land the 26 year old.

The Aston Villa player would love to play in the UEFA competition next season, report Fotomac, and this could give a boost to Trabzonspor’s pursuit of the Zimbabwean.

Dean Smith’s side signed Nakamba from Club Brugge for €12m last summer and he was a regular in the team before the Premier League stopped due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Nakamba has made 26 appearances for Villa this season and his contract will expire at the end of June 2024.
