Having already spent quite a lot of money this transfer window, Middlesbrough could go even further, with a Ligue 2 striker allegedly in their sight.
According to TF1 in France, Garry Monk’s new club, alongside the likes of Norwich City and Wolves, have been following the progress of Nathaël Julan,
The Le Havre forward has yet to establish himself with the Ligue 2 side, but if his recent performances are anything to go by, that might not take very long.
Making just two appearances so far this season (both off the bench), the 21-year-old has scored three goals in 38 minutes, hence the interest.
Quick, strong and standing at 6’6”, it’s easy to see why Norwich, Wolves and Middlesbrough would all be interested in his profile, yet you feel it’s probably more for the future than anything else.
If this rather unorthodox form is to continue, it won’t be long until Julan becomes a regular at Le Havre, and maybe then we’ll get a better idea of what he’s capable of rather than bullying tired teams towards the end of games.
And if he carries on scoring at the rate he currently is, expect to hear a whole lot more about him in the future, whether you’re a Norwich, Middlesbrough, Wolverhampton or Premier League fan.
