Adrien Silva’s situation at Sporting has barely changed in the past few weeks, but it doesn’t mean the Portuguese press will stop dedicating entire pages to his possible departure from the club.

It’s A Bola who writes a report today, saying it’s still very possible that the midfielder will be heading to the Premier League this summer, as he has many admirers in England, and that includes Tottenham.

No other admirers are mentioned, it’s just Tottenham Hotspur named, and they showed interest earlier in the window but things didn’t go too far.

Tottenham reportedly offered €20m, and although the club are considered to have enough money to pay the €30m demanded by Sporting, they gave up because Adrien is 28 already.

But this lack of competition, which is how we understand all this unnamed interest, should still favour Spurs.

Adrien and his agents really want a Premier League move, and are likely to keep working for it to happen.

The start of the season is showing Manchester United didn’t burn money by signing Nemanja Matic, who’s one year older, so maybe there’s still time for Tottenham to be convinced that Adrien is worth €10m more.

Or maybe it’s likelier that Tottenham could convince Sporting he’s worth €10m less than their asking price, a nice challenge for Daniel Levy.
