Over the course of the week, a lot has been written about the arrival of Marten De Roon at Middlesbrough.
The 25-year-old, currently contracted to Atalanta in Italy, has been promised to the north of England for the best part of a couple of weeks, and it looks like the deal is reaching the finishing line.
Articles from a few days ago suggested the deal should be done by the weekend, but Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy say this could take a bit longer.
The Italian newspaper say the player will travel to the Riverside Stadium on Monday to finalise the move, which we suspect will also be to complete a medical etc…
That’s all the information they provide for now, as it’s mentioned briefly, but if the deal isn’t announced by the weekend, as was promised by the English press, Boro fans shouldn’t panic too much.
It should, if all goes well, happen soon.
De Roon was named as Atalanta’s MVP last season, playing 37 games, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
