Fiorentina star Khouma Babacar has been linked to several Premier League sides in the past 12 months.
It was reported Crystal Palace had a bid rejected for the Senegalese forward, whilst Everton and Watford have also been linked.
The 23-year-old is now apparently subject to interest from Middlesbrough, reports Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The newly promoted Premier League side, however, face competition from Sassuolo, who are also keen on securing his signature.
There is no word in today’s Gazzetta dello Sport as to how much the forward would cost Middlesbrough, but Gazetta’s less reliable subnetwork Gazzetta Mercato and Gazzetta World reckon his transfer fee could very well be around €15m.
Babacar spent most of time on the bench for Fiorentina last season, and might be keen on switching clubs in the hope of regular playing time.
The 23-year-old managed 7 goals to his name in around 1200 minutes of football he got last season, and has another three years left on his contract at the Serie A club.
