Francis Coquelin will undergo a medical on Thursday to seal his move from Arsenal to Valencia.
The Spanish club gave a huge social media hint on Wednesday about the signing, posting a Tweet of a suitcase with the initials ‘FC’ on it. That left fans in no doubt the Arsenal midfielder would be arriving at the club.
Super Deporte say Valencia sources have confirmed to them that Coquelin is set to join the club, and was expected imminently on Wednesday evening.
As long as the medical doesn’t throw up any unexpected problems, Coquelin is due to be announced as a Valencia player before the end of the weekend.
Earlier reports from the same Spanish newspaper, echoed in both the English and French media, have stated the Arsenal transfer is most likely to be a loan with a compulsory purchase option of around €10-12m, making it as good as a permanent transfer but with the payment delayed until the summer window.
